The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Allan Poe - 1588 Words

Edgar Allan Poe was a great writer of many poems and short stories. Poe’s works mainly focused on horror and death. This could be due to the many deaths and hardships he has faced in his life time. Poe lived a short life of only forty years but works such as â€Å"The Cask of Amontillado†, The Murders in the Rue Morgue†, and â€Å"The Raven† made him a well-known writer. According to the Poe Museum he was seen as a morbid and mysterious man in the public eye thanks to Rufus Griswold who wrote Poe’s obituary after his death. In the â€Å"Cask of Amontillado† Poe focuses on revenge and how well someone can be killed without ever being found. Montresor seeks revenge on Fortunato but the revenge itself is death. Death was seen as the ultimate revenge for an insult. The way Fortunato was killed is in fact a horrific way, being changed to a wall and left to die. Fortunato was lead to his death by a man he thought was his friend. Montresor greeted Fortunato as any gentleman would do â€Å"My dear Fortunato, you are luckily met.†) By doing this there is not a clue that he will be killed. The way Montresor greets and treats Fortunato shows how dark and evil Montresor thinks. He seeks to kill a man who insulted him, instead of taking care of it like a gentleman. This kind of thinking is of an evil and dark man. How can someone plot to kill someone and treat them as if nothing is wrong? Poe uses this to keep the story interesting and keeping the reader on edge. Racism In Jamaica Essay - 1235 Words

Black is beautiful,† I remembered hearing those words as a child growing up in Jamaica and never quite understood the philosophy of its existence. â€Å"Racialism† as defined by webster’s new world dictionary as â€Å"a doctrine or feeling of racial differences or antagonism, especially with reference to the supposed racial superiority, inferiority, or purity; racial prejudice, hatred or discrimination.† All my twelve years of living in Jamaica i have never seen much less heard of anyone committing or giving a definition to such despicable terminology. What I observed that day in the terminal I reflected back on that day as an icebreaker which to help ease me into what lies ahead. My father’s explanation to why that scenario played out the way it did, I began to analyze things in a different perspective, especially when I am watching a movie and a character of a different descent did something without a justifiable reason, predominantly to a black character It would lead me to believe that their motive for such action was simply due to some degree of racism. Despite the fact that racism is well and alive in today s era, I still find it hard to accept; the concept of bringing hatred or harm to another because of their distinct physical characteristics. The ideology that energizes the production of one being racist is sadistic, and cannot be justified without concluding that the individual has some degree of mental illness. In other words, the motive to terrorize someone mentally or physically to satisfied a d emonic entitlement to feel superiority. That same logic and think was used to convince others of the same descent that slavery was a tenable. Acts of such plainly show you how profoundly America holds on to its past. Drone Delivery System

Question: Discuss about theDrone Delivery System. Answer: Introduction: Today various new advanced technologies have developed to facilitate business activities and personal tasks. Technology is growing day by. Here in this report we are going to discuss about a new and emerging technology Commercial Drone. In countries like Australia and New Zealand, people are taking interest in commercial drone technology. This technology is also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and this technology is used for delivering a range of products such as fast food and books. This use of drone technology saves time to deliver products from one place to other without delay. There are some business organizations, those already ready to develop their drone delivery system and these companies are Dominos Pizza, Amazon and in Australia Zookal. As we know these company has several orders to deliver and these really require this type of technology. Dominos delivery drone system is named as DomiCopter. But use of drone system is a challenging task to perform and according to analys is about usage of this technology some issues are found such as it will put impact over Civil Aviation Legislation, potential theft of deliveries and concerning issues of drone collisions. I am working as a project manager in my company which is established in New Zealand. Like other companies, our company wants to use drone delivery system for its products. Now as a project manager, for this project, my role is to make a plan which is an essential management function. As we know planning of a project requires more responsibility as compare to organizing, leading and controlling management functions. This planning process for my company will consist of information about major concerning factors associated with drone delivery and how these issues can be mitigated through an application. Discussion Here in this segment of report we will focus on major concerning factors that are related to usage of drone delivery and it is necessary for management of our company to have knowledge about these concerning factors. Concerning Factors of Drone Delivery Costlier than other Delivery Systems The first major concerning factor of drone delivery is that it can be expensive than other available delivery systems. It is also risky that without pilots on board lifting things into air may consume lots of energy. Difficult to Delivery Heavy Products Drone delivery will not successful for delivery of heavy products. It is risky and it is disadvantage of drone delivery system to deliver heavy products without any security from physical harm. (Flexport, 2015) Difficult to Deliver Product Every Location Drone delivery is not possible at every location. Precisely, drone cannot go anywhere, even it is impossible for drone system to go on the heck of lot of places. In New Zealand there are various small, large and complex places where drones delivery is not possible. Then how at this place this system can work. Stealing of Drones System is Possible There are various cases when thieves try to steal packages from delivery systems. In case of drones delivery, chance of stealing will become high. In this case, thieves will not only steal delivery package but also drones delivery system. (Paul, 2016) Hacking Hacking is also a big issue in case of using drone delivery system. Hackers can steal drones system for collecting its hardware and programming information and can misuse this equipment. Crowd In case of so much crowdy places, drone system will not work. These systems are small and cannot carry so much weight. In crowd, heavy packages can be lost. Weather Problem Weather problem is a biggest problem for drone system. How we can use this system in rainy and stormy seasons. These are major concerning factors regarding drone delivery system that are company wants to use in future. If due to above reasons, company may not deliver products on time and at right locations then company has to use multiple delivery logistics. This will increase overall budget of company. These above discussed factors cannot be ignored by management of company. Now on the behalf of these concerning, management try to find solution or application that can resolve this problem. Mitigation of Concerning Factors of Drone Delivery The mitigation of above discussed problem is necessary to resolve in case drone delivery system. Actually drone are equal to self-driving cars and while implementing this system legal and regulatory environment must be considered. One mitigation to above discussed problems is that more RD is required on it. Google and Amazon companies are doing efforts to resolve problems of drone delivery system by resolving problems of its control system. Besides this, FAA guidelines are also necessary to consider while developing drone delivery systems. FAA provides guidelines for commercial uses of drone systems. Other solution to resolve this problem of drone delivery system is that it should be made according to fixed and regular routes. The testing process of drone delivery process should be done appropriately and in this process, all features, security concerns must be checked properly by developers of this system. There are some security and flexibility features are required to insert into d rone delivery system.( Assolution.com, 2016) The flexibility of this system can increased via intelligent and adaptable route shifting tools. Now to maintain security in drone delivery system, there are various tools and techniques available. As we have already discussed above that drone can be faced problems of hacking or stealing issues. So it can be possible with the help of security tools. (Military Embedded Systems, 2016) The first security technique that can be used in drone delivery system is detection and monitoring of every activity. Hackers have already made anti-drone technology and due to this we cannot locate a drone and cant protect this. In this case detection is required and it relies small radars, cameras and devices those are installed on residences or on other specific areas. Once drone will be detected, security system can warn security team via email. Other way to prevent drone from hackers is to use active responses. Under this technique, an equipment is used to take down drone of enemy. Use geo-fencing and no-fly zones, it is possible to maintain security of drones system. There are many geo-fencing tools exist and these tools send signals for creating aerial barriers. Drone system does not have permission to fly over these barriers. No fly zones are considered more effective than geo-fencing tool because fencing may only work with a limited number of hardware and software. Jamming is next other way that can be used for security purpose of drone system. Jamming is able to actively disrupt and interrupt signals of drones. This technique is also consider better than geo-fencing techniques. These are some ways to maintain security, reliability and flexibility of drone delivery system. Conclusion After this whole discussion we can say that before implementing drone delivery system in future, above discussed challenges and mitigation techniques must be considered by management of this company. After reading this report, management of our country can make decision to implement drone delivery system for delivering products. References Flexport. (2015). The Economics of Drone Delivery. Every now and then, a student faces the task of research paper citation. There are many online articles that explain how to cite a paper in a certain style. You will find so many articles about each style on the Internet. The bad part is that many of those articles suggest different citing ways for a certain style of citation, e.g., MLA in one article might not coincide with the suggested citation of MLA in another article. The right way is the one supported by your institution, so follow the criteria dictated by your teacher in this regard. The skill of citing a research paper comes with practice. Whether to put a comma in between them or not depends upon the style of citation. Do mention the page number the quote is taken from in-text. For the end-of-paper bibliography, you need author’s names, year of publication, the title of the research paper, the database or journal in which it was published, its range of pages, URL, DOI, and date you accessed it. Organization of this data in the reference depends upon the citation style required by your teacher, so follow that. Here are certain guidelines on citing using different styles: If you have once cited the author and work in-text, don’t cite them again while referring to the same work. However, if you go back to information drawn from it after citing other sources, at least mention the name of the author again for clarity. If you have cited more than one sources by the same author, and you include information from his/her different sources alternately, also mention the article’s or book’s name along with the author’s name in-text. If there are more than three authors, just write the last name of the first author and write â€Å"et al.† after it rather than writing down a long list of surnames. Certain styles call for lesser For example, you don’t need to write the year of publication in-text in the MLA style of citation, but you have to write it in the APA or Harvard citation style. Decline of Religion in 20th Century Neitzsche essays

Decline of Religion in 20th Century Neitzsche essays In this paper I am supposed to choose an existential or nihilist thinker and apply their thoughts to the 20th century problems that we identified at the beginning of class. Im not going to do this. What Im going to write about is one of, if not the biggest, problem mankind has ever created for itself. Christianity. While Christianity was not on the list of problems that we identified I cannot help but wonder if the man I will examine and his writings had anything to do with the decline of this outdated monolith. Of course Im speaking of none other than Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche. Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, born Oct. 15, 1844, was a German philosopher who, together with, Soren Kierkegaard shares the distinction of being a forerunner of Existentialism. He studied at the universities of Leipzig and Bonn, receiving his doctorate degree from the Leipzig in 1869. Because he had already been published, he was offered the chair of classical philology at the University of Basel in Switzerland before the doctorate was officially conferred on him. He left the university in 1879 due to ill health caused by a short stint in the military, and began concentrating on his writings. My focus will be on three of his works that show his opinions of the Christian/Slave morality, The Gay Science, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and Beyond Good and Evil. Beginning with The Gay Science, first published in 1882, Nietzsches contempt for Christianity (as well as other groups notably Germans) came to the forefront. In the third book Nietzsches Madman comes looking for God. As men who did not believe laughed and asked if God had become lost the madman uttered the words that the author is best known for. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. The Enlightenment, which had already begun to question religion laid the groundwork for the madman. Those men to whom he questions are the Enligh...
